This week, Bryan and Eric celebrate Nerdonomy’s one year anniversary by discussing… their own family histories, of course.
American Slavery Was Not A Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. It Was A Holocaust. My Ancestors Are Slaves. Stolen From Africa. I Will Honor Them.
-Spike Lee via Twitter, 12/22/12 10:18pm
Those were the words that Spike Lee used to disparage Quentin Tarantino’s new epic film Django Unchained. The plot centers around a slave who is freed and becomes a bounty hunter. He then embarks on a mission to rescue his wife from a sadistic plantation owner. That’s about all that Spike Lee knows about the movie since he has not seen it and will not see it.
Due to scheduling difficulties, we had to postpone Part II of our History of Mexico. Instead, Eric and Bryan introduce the WHEEL OF HISTORY. See what it turns out (pun intended)! Enjoy!
If you are a regular listener to the podcasts (www.nerdonomy.com) then you may have heard us drop a few references to the nerdonomy home game. Well this game hasn’t really existed…
UNTIL NOW! (Did you guys just get excited? Because I know I did…)
So here’s the game:
The Setup: First subscribe to the podcasts, and tell your friends about it. Pick a friend or two to play with when a new episode comes out, and pick a Nerd to represent you! You earn points based on what your Nerd does during the podcast. For instance, if I’m listening to an episode of Nerds on History, I can pick Eric and someone else can pick Bryan. If one of the other Nerds is guest hosting on the show, like Kevin, then a third person may join, or those points can go to both players.
