This week, Bryan and Eric celebrate Nerdonomy’s one year anniversary by discussing… their own family histories, of course.
Okay, I’ll be the first to admit it; I spend too much money on comics. It’s not my fault, really. They are just so fun to read and those price tags only say 2.99. With my iPad, I’ve gotten even worse. Instead of facing the register $25 total, I just buy them all via Comixology and only see a $6 receipt from iTunes every few days. My girlfriend saw my reading list last night and asked just how many series I am reading. It was hard to come up with a total; there are just so many each week. Well it’s time to come out of the shadows. I shall proudly stand up for the comics I love, and, who knows, maybe you can give them a try too, but watch that iTunes bill.
American Slavery Was Not A Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. It Was A Holocaust. My Ancestors Are Slaves. Stolen From Africa. I Will Honor Them.

Those were the words that Spike Lee used to disparage Quentin Tarantino’s new epic film Django Unchained. The plot centers around a slave who is freed and becomes a bounty hunter. He then embarks on a mission to rescue his wife from a sadistic plantation owner. That’s about all that Spike Lee knows about the movie since he has not seen it and will not see it.

Well folks, we’ve reached the end of Oscar Season.
We here at Nerdonomy would like to extend our congratulations to all winners of Academy Awards this year; your achievements were well recognized. I also want to take a moment to sincerely thank all those who listened to our live Oscar podcast: it was a lot of fun, and we look forward to our next live episode in the not-too-distant future.
Good day, true believers! It is I, Sean Moriarty, here to continue our magical journey through the new frontier of beer and movie pairing. That’s right… beer pairing ain’t just for food anymore…
Pliny The Elder Imperial IPA with Seven
Pliny The Elder pours with a golden, honey-like hue with a light, fluffy head. It has an extremely floral nose with hints of pine. The first sip is very bitter like grapefruit, which then gives way to a sweet piney flavor mixed with pineapple, then has a crisp and bitter finish. This is one of the best beers in the known universe and I can never, ever get enough of it.
