We kick off our month of Oscar coverage by talking about Leo’s Losing Streak, while also addressing plenty of other Academy misses.
As the year winds down to a close, for most movie fans like me, this is the most thrilling time of the year. 2013 has been, at the very least, a very entertaining year with some critical and crowd-pleasing gems, some with controversy and some with a lack of fanfare/box-office bombs. Looking ahead on what’s to come, Here’s my list of twelve Fall/Winter 2013 films that I am most excited to see, starting with the month of October. The reason for the number twelve is because I tried to narrow down to ten, which I couldn’t, and then I tried to narrow the list down to fifteen and being the overachiever I am, I kept it short with twelve. I will include brief synopses and poster for each film, courtesy of imdb.com.

Well folks, we’ve reached the end of Oscar Season.
We here at Nerdonomy would like to extend our congratulations to all winners of Academy Awards this year; your achievements were well recognized. I also want to take a moment to sincerely thank all those who listened to our live Oscar podcast: it was a lot of fun, and we look forward to our next live episode in the not-too-distant future.
Happy Oscar Season!
As we’ve done in past years at Nerdonomy, we’re hosting a challenge to prepare our movie-loving followers for the 88th Academy Awards. This year, however, we must warn you, the challenge is steeper than it’s been in the past. While usually the Oscar Challenge can be completed in watching 17-19 films, this year the challenge requires a MINIMUM of 20 films to be seen, and as many as 25 if you’re really pushing yourself. So get ready to do some sitting.
The 86th Annual Academy Awards are only 5 days away! The Nerds welcome back Bryan Knapp to discuss the nomination process as well as some of the interesting facts and records surrounding Hollywood’s biggest night.
Make sure to tune in on Sunday, March 2nd at 5:30pm PST to our Live Oscar commentary track!
