Howdy, Nerdonomy blog fans! Before I get to the letter, let’s catch you up in case you’ve been busy the past couple of days or you just crawled out from under a rock. If its the latter, I am thoroughly impressed that you figured out how to use a computer and found our website so quickly.
Dear Mr. Bay,
Everyone and their mother has been eagerly anticipating this summer’s “Opening Day” for movies which Marvel has had on lockdown for the last few years. This year’s starting feature: Iron Man 3. Some of you avid listeners may know that I myself am a DIYer and craftaholic. My dad dragged me against my will to OSH and Home Depot on the weekends when I was a kid when I would rather stay home and read. He then made it up to me by teaching me how to use power tools, to build things, and to look at the artistic potential of a piece of junk. It unlocked a personal creativity that I’m proud to say that I share with my dad, and his dad, and his dad.
This week, NoF co-founder Dave McGuire is back with The Nerds again to discuss the merits and faults of practical and CGI special effects.
