Nerds on Film

214 posts

In a sea of movie podcasts, only one is made by 3 film nerds, and 1 severely disturbed man.

Do you like listening to podcasts? Then perhaps you’re looking for a podcast about movies. You love to talk about movies. Likewise, maybe you love listening to other people talk about movies. But wait, there are so many movie podcasts out there! Well, maybe you would like it when the podcasters crack jokes while dissecting cinema. And what if you even like those jokes when they’re sometimes inappropriate?

Then, this podcast is for you.

Perhaps you’re a film nerd.  But you’re not just someone who’s a fan of superhero films, Star Wars, and Star Trek.  You like it all: Spielberg, Tarantino, Del Toro, Oscar-bait, popcorn movies, documentaries.

Then, this podcast is for you.

Even still, maybe you’re a hardcore filmgoer. You check movie news sites daily.  You’ve attended multiple film festivals.  You pay extra for movies so you can watch the special features.

Let’s put this way. If you’re the kind of person who geeks out at, or cracks jokes about a movie when a writer signs on, then this podcast is definitely for you.

On this show, hosts Bryan Moriarty, Gina Giovanetti, Sean Moriarty, and Roxi Nobari put their own nerdy and comical spin on topics from Fandom and Film Industry alike.  By the way, you should probably listen with your headphones. Because this one is for grown-ups.

Episodes are updated bi-weekly.

Giant Southern Tea Party Lady Hats

This week, the nerds each give a short review of a movie that the other nerds haven’t seen.

We hope you enjoy our reviews of Blade Runner 2049Professor Marston and the Wonder WomenKingsman: The Golden Circle, and the Netflix Original movie Gerald’s Game.

What on Earth does this title have to do with our episode topic?  Listen and find out!

A Cycle of Toxicity

In a more serious-toned episode, Sean, Roxi, Gina and Bryan discuss the recent scandal around Harvey Weinstein. Please take note: this episode was recorded before the allegations arising around Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman, Brett Rattner, and others.

We hope you find this discussion engaging, and take our call to action to heart.  Thanks!

Scotty Wants to Talk about IT

Strap in, Nerds!  In a last minute change of plans, Sean was not able to join us for this round of episodes.  So, we decided to do an ADD-fueled topicless episode, where we accidentally ended up reviewing IT.

In case you were wondering…this is the “Save the Date” that was shown.

A Dumpster Fire…IN HELL!

This episode, the Nerds decided to take a few jabs at some horrendous cinematic “hairballs.”  Listen as they discuss Catwoman, the original Left Behind series (as well as the 2014 remake), and God is Not Dead.  Please don’t hesitate to send us your feedback on this episode, either.  Enjoy!

All The World (has been) Waiting for You!

The team welcomes back long-time Nerds on Film co-host Sarah Ashley as a guest to share our reactions to the LONG overdue Wonder Woman movie.  We apologize in advance for some of the audio distortion you will hear.  Enjoy!

VH1’s Behind the Beef Curtains

And we’re back!  In this episode, the nerds welcome back guest Gina Giovanetti to comment on the subject of films that you may not have known were directed by women, and to “pass the torch.” Enjoy!
